Exhale Bikes and Sunday Cycles have teamed up with Bikes and Basketballs for Kids a program of The Fusion Foundation (5013c). Bikes and Basketballs for Kids was established in 2011 by Joe Berman and then adopted by community philanthropist Carl Ames to provide bikes, bike helmets and basketballs to kids in the valley.
The community collaborators are pleased to announce the Second Bikes and Basketballs for Kids Annual Drive. We are asking customers and friends to “adopt” a kids bike/s to be donated to a local kids from underprivileged areas. You, your family, your friends, you company, your employer, your church or synagogue, support the purchase of one, two, three, or more bikes, or just contribute any amount to the bottom line.
If you can only afford one, that’s amazing, if you want to donate a sum toward bikes, that’s amazing, if you can step up and donate $200.00, $500.00, or more . . . that’s amazing. Each child will also get a helmet and a basketball at no cost.
Last years event was a huge success, and with the amazing teamwork and staff at EXHALE BIKES, this year will be even better!!
We have set a goal of 250 bikes built, and donated by Saturday December 22. The wholesale cost of the bikes plus $10.00 shipping is 12″ bikes are $29.99, 16″ bikes are $44.99, and 20″ bikes are $49.99. These are special prices that we have negotiated with the vendor and are only good for adoption purposes, not for purchase.
We continue reaching out to a broad spectrum of people in which to donate bikes. Last year bikes will distributed to several great groups including: -Kids of deployed military families -Kids in the palomino neighborhood -Scottsdale Family Crisis Center -Stepping Stone Foundation -Native American Connections
and the list of resources continues to build . . . The other side of this is that we will need a load of volunteers to help out in the days leading towards the 22nd to help us build hopefully 200-300 bikes!!!
Please post and re-post this, let’s rock some good kids world!!!
